Strictly Dancing

Welcome, students, to the enchanting world of "Strictly Dancing"! This captivating humanities project will take us on a mesmerizing journey through the rich tapestry of dances from all corners of the globe. Designed for both Foundation Phase and Key Stage 2, we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant cultures of various countries as we explore their unique dance traditions.

First stop, Brazil! Get ready to feel the rhythm as we delve into the pulsating beats of Samba drumming and master the infectious moves of Samba dancing. To celebrate the Brazilian carnival spirit, we will also engage in the exciting art of carnival mask making, culminating in a fabulous fashion show!

Next, we travel to the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand, where we will embrace the spirit of Moana and delve into Maori culture. We will have the opportunity to learn the powerful Haka dance and even try our hand at creating traditional tattoos.

Our journey continues to the United States of America, where we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant energy of the Charleston. We will also explore the world of cheerleading, experience the thrill of American football, and engage in a variety of American-themed activities that will give us a taste of the diverse American culture.

Finally, we head to Wales, a land filled with enchanting folklore and captivating traditions. We will delight in learning folk dances that have been passed down through generations, dive into Welsh lessons and games to deepen our understanding of the language, and explore the essence of "Welshness" that makes this country truly unique.
