I am bilingual teacher who has been teaching in primary education for over 10 years. I started my career as a supply teacher and have taught in primary schools across different counties throughout South Wales.

I left my permanent position as a class teacher becuase of my passion for wellbeing and mental health. The New Curriculum for Wales inspired me to engage with project based learning to enhance the way pupils learn. I have seen the damaging effects Covid has had on our young children and want to give children the opportunity to perform, explore, create, excercise and build confidence through a verity of different projects.

During my teaching journey I have continued to develop my teaching skills and knowledge around pedagogical practices. Some of the courses I have engaged with include:

Pivitol (behaviour), Alan Peat, Co-operative learning, Math’s No Problem, The Colour Works, Visual Literacy, ALN, Science (Ann Goldsworthy), Circle Time (Jenny Mosley), P4C, Coding, Film Literacy, Mindfulness for Children Training Programme.

What Is next on my learning journey

CBT, Lego Therapy, Child Psychology Diploma (level 3), Trauma Therapy, Whole School Approach to Wellbeing, Mindfulness for adults and children.

Before becoming a teacher I studied Sport Science. I am passionate about Physical Education and understand the benefits this has for pupils both physically and mentally.

I have coaching badges in:

  • Gymnastics - PESS

  • Football - FAW

  • Rugby - WRU

  • Cricket - ECB

  • Tennis
